Held in its most ambitious and most exciting location yet - a precinct ‘takeover’ in the heart of Fortitude Valley, Track + Field will consume live music venue Electric Playground and feature an outdoor ‘Alley Stage’ and takeover The Rev, Warner St, on Friday 26 April.
Presented by Mucho Bravado (Hungry Kids Of Hungary, Gung Ho, Andy Bull) and Amplifire (Last Dinosaurs, The Jungle Giants) the event will feature a stunning line-up of Australian indie talent for all you music lovers.
Headlining the outside Alley Stage is the impressive Melbourne sextet Alpine - fresh off the plane from their recent appearance SXSW in the USA. Their glistening and sophisticated pop music has quickly awarded them a lengthy list of accolades. Their debut album, A Is For Alpine, and their run of radio winners - ‘Hands’, ‘Villages’, ‘Gasoline’ and the recent ‘All For One’ – highlight them as one of Australia’s emerging finest young bands.
Brisbane’s very own The Jungle Giants’ fervent fans will be the first to see their new songs off their upcoming debut album. Tireless hard workers with a magic touch for creating dynamic indie rock their two EPs and a pair of radio-hits - ‘Mr Polite’ and ‘She’s A Riot’. The band is currently recording with producer Magoo.
Always able to set off the party are Dune Rats - two of Brisbane's finest, cheek punk stars. In the midst of a speedy rise in Australia’s music scene, the devilsome duo have been shouting for attention with footstompers like ‘F*ck It’ and ‘Red Light Green Light’. Undercover.fm expects nothing less than their unique brand of rockstar frolics.
All the way from across the Tasman Sea, the elegant and brilliant starlet Asta is making her way to Brisbane to perform her unadorned, catchy pop tunes. With a win in Triple J’s Unearthed High competition, ‘Escape’ and ‘My Heart Is On Fire’, the latter securing a the 50 position in the Hottest 100. Asta is a real Tasmanian gem and one not to be missed.
A great line up of DJs will also be banging out the party tunes until the early hours on the Electric Playground Stage just in case you didn't want to go home just yet. Featuring DJs - Millions, Cub Scouts, Treats, Teen Girls and Pony Club it's going to get pretty hectic.
