Sugar Mountain, Melbourne's boutique music and arts festival, will take over the Melbourne CBD next week. Showcasing a tremendous selection of local and international creative talent.
The main event will be taking place at The Forum Theatre on Saturday 19 January 2012.

Lauded Melbourne visual projection artist Kit Webster will make his third mind-melting main stage appearance at Sugar Mountain 2013. Webster will expand on his previous two appearances at Sugar Mountain, bringing it home with an expanding audio-responsive visual set for Action Bronson & Dirty Projectors. German-born, New Zealand based artist Markus Hofko will make his Sugar Mountain debut with a series of swirling, live projections. Hofko will dress the main stage with live visual splendor for acts Woods and ESG. Within The Forum’s many hidden nooks, local flamboyant artisan Hamishi will await you. Collaborating with musician and sound artist Henry Fin Madin (The Harpoons), the pair aims to draw you into their audio/visual world, bound to confuse and boggle, all in a strange and colourful manner.

The Summit is a stage of collaborative performances, visual sensations and otherworldly experiences. Climb the stairs to the very summit of Sugar Mountain’s peak and find yourself drawn into the world of Phantoscopia. An extra-sensory exploration of human perception and phantasmagoria in a panoramic audio-visual experiment, Phantoscopia will take participants on a hypnotic journey to explore and project the shadowy landscapes of the Mind. In early 2012, Kirin J Callinan and Kris Moyes had a meeting of minds which spawned one of the most arresting music video clips to come out of Australia, ever. Enigmatic performer and strange fellow Kirin J Callinan and acclaimed sociopathic director Kris Moyes reunite for their collaborative live debut at Sugar Mountain. What they will do? Nobody knows.......
Melbourne based synth outfit Forces will collaborate with acclaimed choreographer Antony Hamilton (Chunky Move, Australian Dance Theatre, Lucy Guerin). The result? Another 'must see' one-off performance, curated just for Sugar Mountain. As a choreographer, Antony Hamilton created dances for The Lyon Opera Ballet, Australian Dance Theatre, Chunky Move, Dancenorth, LINK, The Victorian College of the Arts, Stompin and Rogue. This is sure to be an unforgettable, performance.

The Boiling Point Stage is presented by Boiler Room TV, featuring visual installations and stage design by Misha Hollenbach. Respected as one of the foremost broadcasters of underground dance music in the UK, Boiler Room TV will bring Sugar Mountain into the living rooms of discerning dance music lovers worldwide through the Boiling Point Stage. Located on The Forum's mezzanine level, Boiling Point will feature a stage environment with heavy tribal undertones adorned with the awe-inspiring visuals of Melbourne’s Misha Hollenbach.
