New Zealand born, Australian based band Evermore has hit a stalemate with their US based label Sire Records.
Sire Records president Seymour Stein has confirmed to Undercover News that Evermore is definitely on hold for the USA. "We are having problems ... at their end," Stein told Undercover. The problems are said to have arisen after negotiation breakdowns between the band's manager Rebekah Campbell and the US label.
Although Stein didn't go into detail about the problems he did say that "we would like to resolve this".
Evermore were due to appear at SxSW but cancelled just days before the event in Austin. The problems have arisen at exactly the same time the band has had an alltime high in Australia. Their second album 'Real Life', released in July 2006 is platinum and the single 'Light Surrounds You' become their first Australian number 1 single.
In Australia, Warner Music released their most recent single 'Unbreakable' in March.
