M.I.A will perform a one-off show at The Enmore Theatre on Friday, January 4th 2013. On tour for the Summadayze / Summafieldayze festivals, this will be her only Sydney performance.
M.I.A first blinked on the radar in 2005 with the debut of her first album, Arular. The album was praised by critics and fans alike and was shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize in the same year.
It was also the first taste of her explosive musical style. M.I.A fuses hip-hop, electro and pop into something undeniably amazing. 2006 was the year M.I.A became a household name when superstardom tapped her on the shoulder and refused to let go as the result of with her second full-length release, Kala. The smash hit single Paper Planes has sold over 3 million copies in the US alone.
