Sure, the band name "The Owls" doesn't sound that "rock & roll".... But the band do and that's what counts.
Since forming in 2008, Newcastle four-piece The Owls have been cultivating their sonic farm and harvesting a unique sound from a huge variety of influences. Masticating a little dirty blues and all kinds-o -rock, it that make for tasty chewing and an easy to swallow sonic meal the harshest critic would enjoy. The good news is that they have released a brand new EP Swamp Love and are gonna play a few shows in support of the achievement.
"Better Off Deaf", the first single from the Swamp Love EP features crunching guitars coupled with singer Josh Bailey's signature drawl. The EP showcases a wide variety of influences; title track " Swamp Love " is a slightly reserved stoned rocker with the band locking together into an unwavering groove, that doesn't slip. EP closer "Comprende" is an acoustic number and a little country round the edges, featuring a southern styled percussive background and well ventilated three part harmonies.
