If you are a regular undercover patron, not only do we have a great regard for you, but you may have noticed there has not been an update since Thursday last week. I had an incident with a cliff face and have been unable to type. Here is a quick update of anything "of interest" that has happened in music at home and abroad since Thursday October 4th.
Ok real quick, short and sweet....

In news closer to home a few of the performer highlights you can expect at MONA FOMA 2013 have been announced and full lineup details will come your way in December. Start getting excited about the likes of; David Byrne & St Vincent (USA), Dirty Projectors (USA), Death Grips (USA), Amanda Palmer (USA) with Neil Gaiman (UK) Bickram Ghosh (India), Orchestre National de Jazz (France), Pretty Lights (USA).
Steve Kilbey has quit the band he co-founded in 1980 "The Church" via facebook due to anger about piss- weak royalty payments for 30 years of hard yakka in the music biz. The Churches U.S label Slow Motion responded with an open letter on their website and Kilbey has responded with an open letter of his own. Read it here for up to the minute details. Apparently Kilbey will honour forthcoming tour dates for The Church.
Melbourne venue The Pony will be owned and operated by new management post December 2012 renovations. The same group that own tops rock & roll pubs and venues Yah Yahs, The Tote and Bar Open also ran The Pony and have decided to let it go due to lease issues. It will close on December 2nd and undergo a facelift that will not necessarily reflect the last 12 years of hard rockin' and booze fuelled goodtimes for which it is adored by many punters. New owners are father and son team Camilo and David Ippoliti, (who also own Cookie, Revolver and The Toff in Town.) Where are all those great interstate bands gonna play a 2am slot now? Or even get a gig? Sad times for The Pony, hope The Tote, Yah Yahs and The Old Bar will take up the slack.
That's about the size of it. Obviously Gene Simmons has had his mug in the media at some stage over the past 4 days to alert the public about a brand new scratch and sniff KISS underpant...Aaaaand if you didn't already know, after days if speculation and useless media fodder The Foo Fighters are not breaking up.
The bit about KISS was a joke...but will hopefully become a reality if you pray hard enough.
