Ah Yarraville, it's across the Westgate and has in the past suffered from lack of a huge variety of quality local live music enjoyed by other Melbournian locales. That's all gonna change with the Yarraville Club.
All round good guy and hero of live local music James Young and Cherry Rock P/L are proud to announce the launch of a new and exciting 600-capacity live music venue in Melbourne's West at the historic Yarraville Club, 135 Stephen Street Yarraville.
James Young reflects, "Yarraville and the new West represent a thriving creative community crying out for a quality local live music venue; one of size, imagination and care. The Yarraville Club can be that venue. I'm very excited to be connected with this all-star 'Exile' launch show and expect it to lead to great things for music lovers, local artists and the greater Melbourne's West..."
The Yarraville Club celebrates the 40th anniversary of the release of The Rolling Stones classic 1972 LP 'Exile On Main Street' with a special tribute event on Saturday 3 November featuring a special get together of some of Melbourne's most revered local musicians performing 'Exile' track-for-track.
The Exile band will feature Jack Howard (Hunters & Collectors), Ben Marsland, Carl Treasure, Bruce
Haymes (Renee Geyer), Ryan Brown, Ben Curnow and Simon Aarons with vocalists The Wolfgramm Sisters, Ash Naylor (Even, Paul Kelly), Spencer P Jones, Dave Larkin (Dallas Crane), Matt Sonic, Pat Carmody (My Dynamite), Nick Barker and Special Guests.
James Young adds, "With 2012 marking the 50th anniversary of The Rolling Stones it's only fitting that we should also mark the 40th anniversary of the greatest rock n roll album of all time 'Exile On Main Street', the genre-hopping meandering masterpiece of our generation. And this ensemble cast of respected local musos will truly bring the album to life track-for-track in a gig for the ages at a venue for the future."
