Anyone else downhearted about the few days of blissful sunshine and 22 degree days coming to an end with overcast skys and a current temperature of 12 degrees? Only one band can sum up the feelings I have right now. That band is Antenna.
Antenna were a flash in the pan of brilliance that saw two of Australia's greatest musical exponants Kim Salmon and Dave Faulkner team up with techno dudes Southend. A marriage made in hell for some, but for me (who cannot fault anything that Kim Salmon has ever done) the single " Come on Spring" released by Antenna way back in 1998 from the only album produced by the collaboration "Installation" has kept me good company all these years. It comes out every time I get depressed about winter's irritating vice grip on the month of September, you think it's gone and then boom it rears it's ugly head again.
The blessed news is that if you have not got the album or the single in your collection you will now have an opportunity to purchase the digital (it's better than nothing) re- release of both from Yep! Records. You can purchase " Come on Spring" right now including B- side "Paris to Dacca" and the album "Installation" in October. Clicking here will take you where you need to go.
Here are Antenna performing "Come On Spring" on ABC's Recovery. Awesome medicine for a nasty winters day in the first month of spring.
