If you head over to The Killers website right now you will be able to preview the new album Battle Born. As the title of this article suggests, you will hear only spicks and specks of each song, but the player is kind of kewl.
From the teeny tiny amount of the album I have listeed to it definitely has a distinctive 80's flavour, however Brandon Flowers immediately recognisable vocals coupled with 21st Century lyrics such as track number 4 " Here With Me" give the overall preview a typical (for The Killers) this is gonna be good edge ;
" Don't want your picture on my cell phone / I want you here with me..."
Just a tad cornier than I would have liked, the muscial accompaniment is also a big corn-ballsy synth ballad, I can see the vaseline lense now. It's not what I expected but goodness me isn't that the best thing about a brand new record, I love the unexpected, can't wait to hear the full track.
The first single Runaways just gets better every time you listen to it, I have faith in The Killers and their ability to wrap anyone (particularly myself and a fillion other gals) around their little fingers with their songs, cheesy or not.
