Parker and Mr French, the Sydney based music management company helmed by Todd Wagstaff and Jo Walker, has announced a vanguard arrangement with Universal Music Australia, establishing a new multi-tiered distribution pipeline exclusively for their artists, Gypsy and the Cat, Evermore, The Vines, Bluejuice and new projects Jagwar Ma and Danco.
The artists who opt in to the program create their own music and all associated assets. They release with the culture and curiosity of an independent artist but now have the community, insights and muscle of a
great major label behind them. For musicians that are creatively, technically and financially able to make their own music and take that risk, this new deal will far better share the upside to reflect the artists' ingenuity and efforts than traditional record deals.
Evermore and Gypsy and the Cat are the first two artist to opt into the pipeline, with albums due out in October. Gypsy and the Cat have started their own imprint, Alsatian Music.
