You could be forgiven for not having a clue who Paul Stewart is. He has only ever played a handful of live shows and much like his music seems to be an understated and quiet achiever.
Currently based out of Vancouver, Canada, Paul Stewart was born and raised in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. If you ask him, he calls his music Defeatist folk. However, a few listens to his latest self released recording "Permanence", indicates that Stewart writes lullabys for adults that deal with man's place in the world and one's relationship to society. Stewart speaks of searching, of looking inward to find your own place, whilst sharing his memories, dreams, his own crises of confidence and ultimately his vision of existence.
Stewarts voice has a hypnotic laziness that, coupled with the stripped back accompanying instruments offers you an afternoon of sunshine in a hammock to contemplate whatever the hell you want in peace.
