Madonna fans of Australia! Don your mourning gear. The Australian leg of the MDNA tour is cancelled. Just like that.
Why? It's apparently no longer viable. The Herald Sun has reported that Madonna's manager informed tour promoter Live Nation last night that the Material Girl had voiced her change of heart about bringing the MDNA tour down under. Rumours had surfaced earlier this week of a possible cancellation, although when contacted yesterday the Universal rep in Australia had no idea.
Once again it's all about money, Mads would be in direct competition with a bunch of Australian Summer Festivals that , let's face it, are better value for money. Although tickets had not been released for the Australian tour it has been reported that the best ones would go for around $600.00 or more, Madonna has previously been quoted as saying " Start saving your pennies now. People spend $300 on crazy things all the time, things like handbags. So work all year, scrape the money together and come to my show. I'm worth it ."
Excellent, all those pennies you have scraped together can now be put to better use on something that won't let you down and represents better value for money.
