Madonna will face legal action from France's Front National party after projecting a video at a Paris show on the weekend depicting leader, Marine Le Pen, with a swastika on her forehead.
Le Pen is known for her strong opposition to abortion, same-sex marriage, euthanasia, illegal immigration, as well as advocating the reduction of legal immigration into France.
Le Pen knew about the video projection well in advance of Madonna's French shows and has previously stated ; "If she does that in France, we'll be waiting." The video is projected behind the live performance of the song " Nobody Knows Me" and the context in this instance is that Le Pen is exposed as a Nazi.
NME reports that the litigation has been confirmed by Florian Philippot, the vice-president of the Front National party. Philippot has stated " This is just another provocation in Madonna's world tour so that people will talk about her. We cannot accept everything. We cannot accept this insulting connection. Marine Le Pen is defending her honour, but also that of party members and supporters and the millions of Front National voters."
