On Wednesday this week Serj Tankian the singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, poet, political activist and System Of A Down front man released his new studio album, "Harakiri."
Harakiri is the ritual suicide by disembowelment practiced by the Japanese samurai or formerly decreed by a court in lieu of the death penalty.
Tankjan has drawn a parallel between the ancient practice and the people populating the earth today in an attempt to highlight the importance of taking care of the earth and it's creatures. The thought provoking video for the song " HaraKiri" is both a scary truth and a call to action to do something before we kill ourselves through inaction.
Serj explains in his own words, " Harakiri, an infectious celebration of our collective unconscious suicide" adding "The message here is as important as the music as seen on the video for the title track - hear it, see it, post it, share it, love it, hate it, own it. We raped the earth yet don't know why it strikes. Children outcry grandfather sky."
