Matt Sherrod, a former drummer from Beck's band, has replaced Paul Hester as the new drummer in Crowded House.
Sherrod will not only be the new member on the reunion tour, he was also on hand when the band recorded their new album 'Time On Earth'."It's a go with Matt Sherrod for the drumming chair" says frontman Neil Finn. "A big thank you to all who put their hand up, and sorry we didn't get to play with everyone but time and geography were against us. Look out for more dates announced soon and we are about to do some serious rehearsing so we can be very good."
'Time On Earth' will be the first Crowded House album since the band broke up in 1996. It will be their fifth studio album.
The album will also feature some co-songwriting and performance from The Smith's Johnny Marr, a good friend and fan of Neil Finn's.
Crowded House will play Coachella in California in April. A release date for 'Time On Earth' is yet to be determined but is expected mid-year.
