"Black Mold" the first track to be released from The Jon Spencers Blues Explosion's first studio album in eight years is everything you would expect and more.
The album " Meat and Bone" is due out on September 18th via Boombox/ Mom+Pop, and harks back to the good ole days with "12 prime cuts of raw rock'n'roll."
Spencer says of the band "We still have that psychic glue that allows us to create music together," and describes the re- discovery of what makes The Blues Explosion tick, "Over the course of a year touring and writing new songs and recording, we rediscovered our shared history as a band. We circled the wagons, and went back to our roots. In a way this is almost like another first album."
If the first cab off the rank "Black Mold" is anything to go by, you can be rest assured that the full album will be like a renuion with a beloved old car from your past, recently sprayed and running as well as it ever did. Listen to "Black Mold" below.
