After suffering a stroke in late May Mr Khil died in a hospital in St Petersburg on Monday.
The Russian crooner was made famous in 2010 on Youtube for his warbling and seemingly inane performance of the so-so Russian hit "I Am So Happy to Finally Be Back Home". The original lyrics for the song were deemed too "western" and as such Khil and composer Arkady Ostrovsky did away with the lyrics and replaced them with the "vokaliz" style which means to sing without words. The original performance was filmed over 30 years ago and was plucked from obscurity and uploaded to the internet in 2010 making "Mr Trololo" a viral sensation around the world.
