International senation and all round delightful gal, Kimbra is releasing the US version of her debut album Vows on May 22, 2012.
The U.S version of Vows will feature six new songs in addition to tracks from the platinum-certified Australian & New Zealand edition of the album. Kimbra recorded additional tracks in Los Angeles, CA with such producers and songwriters as Mike Elizondo and Greg Kurstin. Also included on the release is "Warrior" featuring Mark Foster (Foster the People) and A-Trak, originally recorded for the Converse "Three Artists, One Song" series.
Kimbra has come a long way from her hometown of Hamilton New Zealand to become acclaimed internationally for her own jazz-inflected pop.The release of " Vows" in 2011 resulted in her winning the 2011 ARIA for Best Female Artist, Grand Prize in the 2011 International Songwriting Competition and is currently nominated for an APRA (Australasian Performing Right Association) award for Song of the Year. Not only that, her haunting vocals and impassioned delivery on the Gotye track "Somebody That I Used to Know" have helped propel it to an international number 1 hit.
Kimbra will spend "Vows" U.S release week in Los Angeles: she is confirmed to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live! May 23rd and will be doing a special show at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery on May 24th.
