Well, this shot is going to stick a spanner in the works for all those " Paul is dead" conspiracy theorists. A photo showing the Beatles walking "the other way" across Abbey Road's zebra crossing in London is going up for auction. Paul is wearing shoes and not smoking.
Scottish photographer, the late Iain MacMillan said of his photograph used on the Abbey Road album cover "I think the reason it became so popular is its simplicity. It's a very simple, stylised shot. Also it's a shot people can relate to. It's a place where people can still walk." The "backwards" photo is one of seven shots taken by MacMillan of The Beatles crossing Abbey Road and is one of 25 printed. It is being sold by a private collector and expected to earn up to £9,000 ($14,300 USD) through Bloomsbury Auctions on May 22nd.
Here is" Come Together " track one, side one from the Abbey Road album.
