In the lead up to the release of Americana on June 5th, Neil Young and Crazy Horse have released another track and video for Jesus' Chariot (She'll Be Coming Round The Mountain").
Everyone knows "She'll Be Comin Round The Mountain" but the significance of the lyrics have been lost over time. The song was written in the 1800s and was based on an old Negro spiritual song that refers to the second coming of Jesus. Neil Youngs liner notes on the album explain, "She" is the chariot Jesus is coming on. Some interpret this as the end of the world. Others have said that "she" refers to union organizer Mary Harris "Mother" Jones going to promote formation of labor unions in the Appalachian coal-mining camps.
