On the 5th of June, Neil Young and Crazy Horse will release the aptly titled "Americana" containing oldtime American classics such as Oh Susannah, Clementine and This Land Is Your Land.
Don't expect the standard arrangements. Crazy Horse have rearranged these American folk songs in their own stylings and if we know Crazy Horse they're going to be good. The common thread throughout the album is apparently the way the old classics are still as meaningful today as they were when they were written. They resonate what is going on today, thereby articulating that nothing miuch has changed. Young has revealed, " They (the songs) are just as poignant and powerful today as the day they were written."
In other exciting news "Americana" will be the first album where the full Crazy Horse lineup has appeared since 1996's "Broken Arrow" including, Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina and Frank "Poncho" Sampedro.
Will "Americana" deliver the same guitar drenched boom like a hurricane? Can't wait to find out.
