A memorial service for Australian rock legend Billy Thorpe will be held this Sunday in Sydney.
Thorpe, aged 60, died suddenly of a heart attack on Wednesday morning.A statement about the Over The Rainbow memorial from Michael Chugg Entertainment says "This is a very sad time and Billy's friends and associates are working hard to make it a worthy celebration of the life and times of a great man, a great musician and a great friend".
The service is being held as Thorpe would have wanted.
The Thorpe family has requested that in lieu of flowers or obituary notices, contributions be made to Support Act Limited (SAL). Established in July 1997, SAL is a nationally registered charity whose objective is to provide relief to music industry participants who are in need or suffering hardship or distress.
