Rap mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs has his hands full this week, as he deals with battery accusations in Los Angeles and a court case defeat in London.
According to reports, Diddy has been accused of punching a man at an Oscars after-party in the early hours of Monday morning. The LAPD have confirmed that a man made an official report to police regarding the incident.Gossip site TMZ.com claim the man is 27-year-old Gerard Rechnitzer, who was apparently unhappy at Combs' attempts to ingratiate himself toward Rechnitzer's fianc??e. The rapper is alleged to have punched Rechnitzer after the latter interrupted Combs' conversation with the fianc??e.
Rechnitzer called police, who arrived after Combs left. He was offered medical treatment, but refused.
Meanwhile across the Atlantic, Combs has suffered a legal setback with a London court ruling that he remains in breach of an agreement with British producer Richard 'Diddy' Dearlove, who has ownership over the Diddy nickname in the UK.
The parties reached an agreement last year whereby the American would not use the Diddy nickname in the UK. A $20,000 payout was awarded to Dearlove at the time.
But Judge David Kitchin claimed that the lyric "mainline this new Diddy heroin", from Combs' latest album 'Press Play', is in breach of the agreement. Combs has promised to modify the lyric, from the track 'The Future', when he performs in the UK.
The judge also expressed his concerns over Combs' use of the nickname on his Myspace site, which can be viewed by British web-users.
