Roger Taylor and Brian May announced last September that they planned to do a Queen tribute tour including a lineup hand selected by themselves.
The wheels are turning as they get ready for the 25 date tour this year. A long online audition process has rewarded Taylor and May with nine musicians includng four singers that will kick off the tour in Quebec on May 26th and run coast-to-coast across the US and Canada. The crew made their debut on American Idol last week and were chosen for their musicianship, charisma and ability to fit into the band.
This is not the only project Taylor and May have on the board for 2012. They will also play five Queen shows in Europe later this year with singer Adam Lambert.
The tribute extravaganza was designed to to present Queen's music as the band originally intended and subsequently recorded. Look forward to songs such as "Bohemian Rhapsody'' being performed with all the bells, whistles, nuances and harmonies as per the original recording.
