Like many other live venues around Australia facing noise restrictions and other nasties that shackle the independent music scene, Pure Pop Records in St Kilda is doing its darndest to keep rockin' live music with a little help from their friends.
On May 11th 2012 The Prince Bandroom will host an awesome lineup in support of Pure Pop to enable owner Dave Stevens to soundproof the Pure Pop beer garden and gig thus allowing the greatest record store, cafe, live music venue in the world to go forward, move ahead and host an array of fantastic live shows.
Pure Pop Records beer garden gigs have regularly hosted local musical goodtimes from artists such as Conway Savage, Charles Jenkins & Tim Rogers, along with bands from all around Australia including The Gin Club, Halfway, Steve Kilbey and Kate Miller-Heidke amongst others. Their intimate stage has also hosted international artists including Barry Adamson, Academy Award winners The Swell Season, Charlie Parr and Dean & Britta (Luna/Galaxie 500) for over 6 years.
In order to help out and keep this live venue "live" all you have to do is purchase a ticket and enjoy. The lineup currently includes Ron S Peno & The Superstitions, Henry Wagons. The Underground Lovers, Charles Jenkins, Davey Lane, Alex Lashlie, Pony Face, Hamish Cowan (Cordrazine) and the wonderful Chris Russell's Chicken Walk. There will also be a super special guest headline act and more guests to be announced.
