Rolling Stone comments that the album is " A gritty brew of New Orleans R&B, psychedelia and voodoo that recalls his greatest LPs."
Dr John, pianist, singer, staple of the New Orleans scene and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will launch his new album "Locked Down" at Under the Bridge in West London on July 18th and 19th.
Produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, the album makes a departure from Dr Johns most recent efforts and has been hailed as one of his finest in decades. The collaboration with Auerbach and a band of young musicians Auerbach hand-picked to make Locked Down was according to Dr John, ".. way cool cutting this record with Dan and the crew he put together for it" adding "It's real HIP."
Locked Down is Dr. John's first album for Nonesuch Records and will be released on April 2nd. It includes
the single Revolution. Check it out below, you won't be disappointed.
