In a year where song nominations for the Oscars didn't leave much room for an exciting contest the song " Man or Muppet" from the Muppets movie has won the Academy Award for best original song.
Lucky there was an award at all. There was apparently 39 songs up for nominaton but it was only "Man or Muppet" from The Muppets and "Real in Rio" from animated film Rio that were chosen to do battle for the 2012 honour of winning best original song.
Happy days and congratulations to Kiwi Bret McKenzie (Flight of The Conchords) on winning his first Oscar.
