American filmmaker David Lynch has collaborated with Zola Jesus on her track “In Your Nature”. After being presented with Zola Jesus’ album ‘Conatus’ (which was released at the end of 2011) Lynch himself handpicked the track to remix.
Remix is a bit if an understatment here. Lynch basically stripped the entire song back to just the recorded vocals and built it entirely from scratch by replacing tension building strings with delicately crafted guitar and drum parts, written and performed by himself and engineer Dean Hurley. What was once a dance track becomes a lurching, cinematic masterpiece. This is not the first involvement David Lynch has had with music. He has composed a bunch of tracks not least of all the theme to Twin Peaks in collaboration with Angelo Badalamenti and also released the aptly titled album "Crazy Clown Time" in November 2011.
