Songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Mick Harvey, best known for his collaborations with Nick Cave, PJ Harvey and Rowland S Howard, will head the program of keynote speakers at I Manage My Music on February the 25th and 26th in Melbourne.
I Manage My Music is a weekend worskshop that began in March 2011. It's tailored to the self managed musician where participants are given the opportunity to hear from experienced industry practitioners, examining business models and creative ideas to move their music projects forward in a way that is achievable, sustainable and financially realistic.
As the I Manage My Music website explains ;
" 95% of Australian musicians will never be managed during their career. The greatest lack in the music industry today is management, which means that musicians need to learn the tools of managing themselves for career longevity. As independent artists, if we don’t learn how to manage ourselves - who will? "
