You have perhaps heard of the great initiative MySchoolAct that gives highschool bands an opportunity to realise their potential and make a couple of dreams come true?
Unley High School students " Love Cream" (they are teenage boys....) have been hand picked by The Big Day to perform at the Adelaide Big Day Out on February 3 2012 as a result of their participation in MySchoolAct.
The MySchoolAct competition aims to support young Aussie talent through utilising the most innovative tools the online world has to offer. Bass player from Love Cream Phillip Tziortzis explains -
“MySchoolAct was a great opportunity for us to get our music out to new people. We have attracted fans from all over Australia, purely due to the accessibility and usability of MySchoolAct, this will probably be one of the better days of our lives. Being given this opportunity will do nothing other than open more doorways for the future of the band.”
Perth's Helena College produced the overall MySchoolAct competiton winners "44th Sunset" who will not only play the Big Day Out in Perth on February 5th but also scored up to $50,000 in recording and marketing from Sony Music, plus up to $15,000 from Sony/ATV publishing.
