Is this the way of the future for music? Music fans now enjoy unprecedented access to all forms of music and competition for their patronage is fierce. It makes sense that the big commercial earners of the future will feature superstar collaborations.
We have already seen super savvy business woman Madonna eye off the competition and collaborate with MIA and Nicki Minaj. It's a logical move in order to continue building a fanbase in a competitive environment. "If you can't beat em' join em".
It will come as no surprise to see more superstar collaborations that offer performers and musicians to target ecclectic and new fanbases. Recently Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips announced that their new album will feature Nick Cave and The Plastic Ono Band ( featuring Yoko Ono). The album is set for release in April 2012 and according to Rolling Stone may also include the likes of Ke$ha, Lykke Li and Erykah Badu.
