The first round of headliners for Melbournes favourite FREE community event St Kilda Festival have been announced.
The line up includes internationally acclaimed urban group, Blue King Brown; 80s Band , Boom Crash Opera; Melbourne indie rockers, British India and home-grown electro-pop duo, Sneaky Sound System headlining Festival Sunday, the culmination of the nine-day celebration of music and culture which showcases St Kilda at its best.
Not sure about all this business about adding mediocre 80's bands to festival bills....Where have Boom Crash Opera been since 1997? Is anyone really excited about bopping around with too many beers under their belt to "Onion Skin"? Not me. I would have thought festival organisers could have done better than Boom Crash Opera with the multitudes of amazingly talented bands and musicians Australia is blessed with at the moment...oh well, I guess we'll wait and see if any of them are included in the all-australian lineup prior to Festival Sunday. No offence to Blue King Brown, British India or Sneaky Sound System...it would have been great for them to play with another talented contemporary.
The full program will be announced on January 9th 2012.
