I know a rat when I smell one and thats why you haven't seen a post on undercover announcing "Davide Bowie the Musical". The UK press went bananas last week over an announcement that a musical based on Bowie song characters including Major Tom was set to open at the O2 in March 2012.
An article in the Guardian even expressed the organizers joy at having received Bowies permission to use the songs, sadly they have been shot down. The Bowie Organization released the following statement on Sunday. "Neither the David Bowie Organization, nor its co-publishers EMI Music and Chrysalis, has issued a license for a Bowie musical at the O2, as has been reported in the U.K. There are no negotiations pending for a long-running musical featuring the music of Mr. Bowie."
Kinda sad in a way. If it was done well, it could have been tops, if it was done really well it might have toured the globe. Oh well.
