The Pogues aficionados get ready because they’re coming to Australia in April next year!!
The band is bringing their Celtic punk sound to the Land Down Under with traditional Irish instruments and folk storytelling after 23 years since their first performance in Australia.
Fans can’t wait to see a Pogue Mahone’s (as they were then known) performance after so long. The band entered the punk scene in 1982 when founding members Shane McGowan, Spider Stacy, Jem Finer and James Fearnley gathered for a show in Kings Cross, London.
Be prepared to see their energetic mix of electric guitar and Irish instrumentation in Melbourne, Sydney and at the 2012 Blues And Roots Festival in Byron Bay. Tickets will be on sale from Friday, November 11 at Ticketmaster.
