Ryan Adams has embarrassed fans onstage during a TV show broadcast on UK BBC, The Songwriters Circle.
The show brings three well-known songwriters to perform their own songs, discuss their art and collaborate with each other. As well as Ryan Adams, the show’s most recent episode screened last week also featured American folk-singer Janis Ian and New Zealand's most famous export Neil Finn.
According to fans, Adam didn’t seem keen on collaborating at all and was rude to the elder songwriters. Some of Adam’s bitterness was also viewed at the huge fall out on his online messageboard tobeyoung.org, where he wrote: “Old people, they are so fussy!”
"The [show’s] ending made me just a tad embarrassed to be a Ryan fan.... I will embellish no further", commented a fan.
In response to fans grumblings, Adams also wrote down on his online page: “It was not mandatory to play on each others songs and I was respectful to both Neil and Janis by way of listening and enjoying their tunes”. Isn’t he lovely?
The crowd’s eyes were all focused on Adam’s awkward attitude. Fans were shocked with his refusal to join in on songs and his early guitar pack up while Finn and Ian were still performing the closing song as a duo. "Clearly Ryan wasn't interested in playing ball on Finn's 'Fall at Your Feet'”, said a fan.
Watch out for boos, young Adams!
