The 2011 JAGERMEISTER INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARDS have wrapped up their sixth year delivering a superbly entertaining evening and bestowing 12 Awards on some of Australia’s finest talent, with THE JEZABELS the only multiple award winners, taking out 2 major honours.
Rising stars THE JEZABELS truly made their mark on the night picking up the awards for Best Independent Single /EP for their critically acclaimed debut EP “Dark Storm” (the third and final installment of their EP Trilogy) and also the award for Best Independent Artist. Already enjoying a massive year both locally and internationally and now, winners in two categories at the JAGERMEISTER INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARDS, its little wonder THE JEZABELS have been earmarked as a band to watch.
It was a night out for our female artists who not only blew everyone away with their live performances but also in the award stakes, with Rock icon ADALITA, taking out the gong in the hotly contested Best Independent Album category, earning well deserved and long awaited recognition for her first solo album, the self-titled “Adalita. Newcomer EMMA LOUISE was acknowledged as the Breakthrough Independent Artist for the sublime sounds of her ep “Full Hearts and Empty Rooms” and its superb single “Jungle” which spent more than 20 weeks at the top of the Independent charts.
