UK pop queens the Spice Girls set to reunite for a charity concert and national tour.
The UK's Evening Standard reports that the five members of the '90s sensation the Spice Girls have "agreed in principle" to perform a charity concert in the latter half of 2007, followed by a reunion tour around the UK. Industry figures have claimed that, following the successful reunion of other '90s pop act Take That (sans Robbie Williams), the group would tour with Boyzone. They have suggested that the charity concert may be aligned with Bono's Red charity, possibly at London's Hyde Park, in September or October. The Beckhams are said to be friends of Bono, and David has appeared in an advertisement for a Motorola phone which automatically donates to the AIDS charity each time it's used. Although the ticket proceeds would go to charity, it is reported that each member wants £2.5 million for the broadcast rights.
Strengthening the rumour, Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell were recently spotted dining together and during an interview Bunton said, "I would love to [reunite]. Even the other girls have said they'd love to do it. It would be great."
