Muse are excited about getting back in the studio to record their sixth album.
The British rock band comprising of lead singer Matt Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenholme and drummer Dominic Howard have been spending the summer performing at some of the world's biggest music festivals.
Matt also welcomed a son called Bingham with his fiancé Kate Hudson last month.
The group can't wait to meet up again and start work on new material.
"September and October, that's when we're going to get into the studio to start writing the new album," Chris told Britain's Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe.
Muse's last album, The Resistance, was released in 2009 and earned them a Grammy Award for best rock album. Tracks from the record are warmly received at festivals, with the band insisting they will never tire of entertaining crowds.
"We're always going to be the kind of band that want to get out and play live," Chris explained. "As the years go on there's that temptation to cut the touring down less and less but we still love playing live.
"I can't ever imagine we'll be the kind of band that cut the touring down significantly."
That said, Chris does feel it's time to offer fans something new. He doesn't like to play new material at shows as there is always the risk of recorded tracks appearing online.
"I think by the time you've finished touring an album, which is usually a two-year cycle, it's something you start thinking about a lot,' he mused.
"It's difficult to bring new songs into the live set before you record them with the internet and dodgy recordings of live songs getting out there before they've been released on an album.
"People tend not to play new songs live any more. That's why we want to get into the studio, make another album and then tour it."
