Velvet Underground founder John Cale previews his new album with a five-song EP.
The Welsh musical legend will release his first solo album in seven years with an EP on Domino Records offshoot Double 6.
The ‘Extra Playful’ EP will feature five new songs, led by the debut single ‘Whaddaya Mean By That’ to be released digitally on September 6.
The whole self-produced ‘Extra Playful’ EP will be released on September 16 and, according to a press release, promises to leap from “pop's edge with glee, freewheeling through springy beats, snaking, shonky guitar lines and zones of exciting texture".
It’s a warm-up to his first album for Double 6, which will be released next year.
It will be his fifteenth solo album and first since 2005’s critically-acclaimed blackAcetate.
