The 19th annual Brit Awards are over for another year, and while the usual run of clich??s are there, some make you wonder just what the judges were thinking.
Muse deservedly won Best British Live Act (it is an award that a band who have recorded the same song 40 times over and passed it off as four albums can win), The Killers won Best International Group and their album 'Sam's Town' won Best International Album.Somehow Take That have managed to wrangle themselves back into the spotlight, taking out Best British Single for their torturous comeback 'Patience'.
The Arctic Monkeys, who were Britain's most hyped band of 2006 were given the gong for their January 2006 release 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not', winning, the "MasterCard" British Album (which incidentally won the tackiest corporate-whore sponsorship award*) and Best British Group (better than Oasis, apparently).
Oasis won the 'Outstanding Contribution To Music' award, presented by Ringo Starr for their, *ahem* "outstanding contribution to music".
