Globetrotters The Temper Trap have been nominated for a BRIT Award for International Breakthrough Act.
The BRIT Awards, effectively the UK Grammys, have announced their nominees for 2011.
The Temper Trap, who scored a Gold record in the UK, are up against Justin Bieber, The National, Bruno Mars and, inexplicably, the Glee cast for the title of International Breakthrough Act.
Rapper Tinie Tempah scored the most nominations. He’s up for British Album of The Year, British Male Solo Artist, British Breakthrough Act, and British Single.
Plan B, The xx and Mumford & Sons all scored three nominations apiece.
Each of the above acts are named for the big one – British Album Of The Year – with Take That rounding out the category.
The award ceremony takes place at London’s O2 Arena on February 15, and will feature live performances by Tinie Tempah, Plan B, Rihanna, Mumford & Sons, Adele, Cee Lo Green and Arcade Fire.
