Snoop Dogg's recent Australian visit is a small respite from US weapons and drugs charges.
The rap superstar is currently in Australia, playing alongside Beastie Boys, Jurrassic 5 and more at the Sydney, Gold Coast and Melbourne legs of the Good Vibrations Festival. The Daily Telegraph's Sydney Confidential reports that Snoop has been living it up in Sydney, possibly shaking off the incipient charges he will face upon his return to the US.The column reports that he was seen partying in a Sydney nightclub with the beau of Good Charlotte's Benji Madden and his costar in a new MTV project, Sophie Monk. Word is that he spent four hours in the Ruby rabbit nightclub filming on Monday February 12.
It has been reported that Snoop had to put his involvement with the MTV show on hold when he was arrested in December last year after a taping a performance on Jay Leno's Tonight Show. He was charged with possession of drugs and concealed weapons.
Snoop must be confident about the charges he will return to face in the US. He has a European and UK tour planned through March to the start of April.
