Sydney’s egging tirade against pop stars has continued tonight [Jul 13] with Lady Gaga being the latest victim, having eggs thrown at her as she left the Sydney nightclub The Arq.
Gaga had spent the night heading from club to club accompanied by a number of bodyguards and reports suggest she remained composed and headed to her car as the eggs came hurtling past, missing her, but hitting an innocent bystander in the process.
In recent months, Justin Bieber had eggs thrown at him during a concert at Sydney’s Acer Arena in April and Australian-turned-US pop singer Cody Simpson had eggs pelted at him during a show at the Sydney shopping centre Miranda Fair in May.
Still, at least these guys aren’t hanging out in Brisbane. Also in May, Canadian DJ Deadma5 was punched in the back of the head by a local DJ playing at the Creamfields after party in the Queensland capitol.
If Kanye West is reading this, I’d put on a little extra security when you’re in town in a couple of weeks, lest you be the latest victim of this fucking plague of morons sweeping through this great southern land at the moment.
