A deluxe, ten-year-anniversary version of The Avalanches landmark album Since I Left You is on its way.
Since I Left You was not only a landmark in Australian music but a turning point in sample-based albums.
Now, Modular Records has announced that they’ll be releasing a deluxe version of the album, dubbed a “ten-year anniversary” version.
It was released in November 2000 in Australia, but was released in 2001 internationally.
The album won four ARIAs, and appeared in many top ten lists of the year, and the decade, from music magazines around the world.
No doubt it will also feature in the top ten on triple j’s current countdown of the Hottest 100 Australian Albums Of All Time, if not at number one, as hotly tipped by commentators.
Reports suggest that the album will include a bonus disc of remixes covering the years since it was released, as well as new reworkings from artists MF Doom, Canyons, Black Dice, and more.
There hasn’t been an official release date for the deluxe edition, but there’s never been an official release date for the long-mooted follow-up album either.
