The Duran Duran tour has been thrown further into doubt.
Duran Duran were forced to postpone a late-May/early-June U.K. tour because of problems with Simon LeBon's voice. On Friday, they extended the postponements to include the rest of their European tour that was scheduled to run from July 14 to mid-September.
A statement on the band's webpage said:
Doctor’s believe that Le Bon damaged the muscles controlling his vocal chords during a show in Cannes in early May of this year, causing him to temporarily lose the top part of his range. With continued physiotherapy and a rigorous treatment plan, the singer’s medical team are certain that he will return to full health in the near future, but as the exact timing of this cannot be predicted, they are recommending moving the European dates so as to avoid disappointing fans at the last minute.
The group is looking to reschedule as many of the dates as possible for either later this year or in early 2012. Their plan is to rehearse in the studio so that they can help LeBon work his voice back to performance quality, once doctor's give the go ahead. The statement does say that Simon has improved dramatically since the incident in France and should be ready to go in the near future; however, band members did not want to have to keep moving dates while he recovered, so the decision was made to postpone the entire tour.
