The Pixies will finally be playing in Melbourne, with the announcement of a two-night 'Best Of The V Fest' concert series.
The announcement was made on community radio station 3RRR this morning, along with the news that Jarvis Cocker will be bringing his solo show to Australia.The 'Best Of The V Fest' shows take place on April 3 and 4 at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
The Pixies will be headlining the April 4 gig, sharing that evening's bill with Cocker and smooth French popsters Phoenix. April 3 will be a more dance-focused show, with Groove Armada, Gnarls Barkley and Pet Shop Boys teaming up with New York rockers The Rapture.
The event also takes place at Adelaide's Memorial Drive at the same time, with the dates inversed (ie., Pixies et al. playing on April 3, and Groove Armada and friends on April 4).
Tickets go on sale February 19 through Ticketmaster.
