Beyonce’s second single ‘Best Thing I Never Had’ - from her new album - is a lot safer than her first shot.
The introduction to Beyonce’s forthcoming fourth album 4 was ‘Run The World (Girls)’ and it left many dumbfounded with its staccato, martial beats and distrubingly strident attitude.
That single peaked at 33 on the Billboard charts and 12 on the ARIA Chart, and currently sits at 50 and 15 respectively after five weeks.
So the second single from 4 already sounds like a far safer option. The song is called ‘Best Thing I Never Had’ and it’s a yearning, bold piano ballad about a break-up – bread and butter stuff for Beyonce.
It was co-written with legendary songwriter Babyface and produced by Symbolic One, who worked on the last Kanye West album.
The song premiered on radio and is available for download today.
