The sudden death of Billy Thorpe and Rose Tattoo tour manager Greg Clarke has put a cloud of sadness across the Australian music industry today.
Greg worked with Australian rock legend Billy Thorpe for more than a decade and right up until Billy left us with the same event, a heart attack.
Billy’s wife Lynn Thorpe knew Greg very well. She shares these words about his passing.
“Greg's e-mail was audioboffin, and he was a genius with sound and computers, but also a great friend who would do anything to be of service”.
“My family and his wide range of family, co-workers and friends will miss him greatly”.
“As a friend said, “The world has just become a little bit quieter".
“Keep Rockin' Greg, wherever you are, and look after Billy for me”.

Another close buddy of Greg’s was Nick Chugg from Chugg Entertainment. He recalls for Undercover, “Greg was not only a great Audio Engineer, he was also a wonderful friend for most of the bands that have shaped the classic Australian sound”.
“The Australian music industry has lost a great soul and his passing will greatly be missed. Our thoughts go out to his family at this time of sorrow. Thanks Mate "Rock On"”.
Greg died this week from a suspected heart attack. He had just turned 50 in April.
