Canadian folk rock sensation City And Colour stream album number three on Grooveshark.
The band, essentially Alexisonfire singer Dallas Green and a cadre of enlisted musician buddies, are streaming their/his’ new album Little Hell before its official release.
City And Colour’s 2008 album Bring Me Your Love hit 33 on the Australian charts and the long-awaited Little Hell is set to be a breakthrough for the folky, punky, rocky side project.
The album was produced by Alex Newport, known for his work with At The Drive-In and Death Cab For Cutie, and recorded in a converted church in Ontario with creative counterpart Daniel Roana, Dylan Green on drums and Scott Remila on bass.
Dallas Green says the title refers to life’s trials - “You have to get through those little hells to get to the really great parts of life and love.”
And he promises deeper ventures into folk, blues and soul. Green says, “With this record, I tried to use every facet of my voice – low, high, quiet, and loud – so it’s almost like an instrument.”
Music-sharing site Grooveshark have picked up a couple of nice exclusives of late, including a preview stream of Black Lips’ new album and Little Hell is streaming on the site right now here.
City And Colour’s Little Hell will be officially release on June 10 in Australia through Dine Alone/Shock.
