A week after her TV show The United States of Tara was axed, Toni Collette has signed up with her old Muriel’s Wedding director PJ Hogan for his next movie.
Hogan has received funding to produce ‘Mental’
Collette made her name playing Muriel Heslop is the 1996 Australian movie ‘Muriel’s Wedding’. That lead to main roles in ‘The Sixth Sense’, ‘Shaft’, ‘About A Boy’ and ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ and then the starring role of Tara in ‘The United States of Tara’ that aired for three seasons.
After ‘Muriel’s Wedding’, P.J, Hogan made ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’, ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’.
Hogan is now casting ‘Mental’ and will start production later this year.
